DESCRIPTION
Chin Augmentation - Adelaide
The chin is a telltale area of ageing, especially in women of middle age and above. Loss of deep supporting fat here, combined with gum recession and loss of bone, impacts the lower face causing a puckered or pouty chin. The chin crease below the lips is also caused by tissue loss and sagging skin. In our fifties, the mentalis muscle becomes hyperactive to compensate for sagging skin, resulting in a pebbly or dimpled appearance of the chin for a ‘witchy chin look’. Chin augmentation may be the solution that you have been looking for.
Chin augmentation gives the face proportion and defines the jaw so that facial features are in harmony. It can be done through surgery, but this involves downtime with bruising and swelling up to six weeks after treatment. Instead, there is a non-invasive, non-surgical chin augmentation treatment that’s quick, safe and effective for a natural, balanced aesthetic appearance.
The Benefits
There are substantial advantages that make non-surgical chin augmentations an effective option for individuals, including:

The treatment is non-surgical
Significant and enhanced results can be achieved without going under the knife. Dermal fillers pose minimal risks and little to no downtime, as patients may continue their daily activities immediately after treatment. Non-surgical chin augmentations are also cost-effective.

Immediate and prolonged results
Results from augmentation dermal filler injections can be immediately seen after treatment, providing an instant confidence boost. Results can last for up to 12 months.

Sculpt and reshape your lower chin area
Dermal fillers are the only non-surgical option for reshaping the chin and jaw area. The fillers are injected beneath the skin, sculpting the chin into a more desirable shape that suits the individual’s facial proportions.

Prevent and reduce the signs of ageing
Sagging skin and volume loss is reduced as dermal fillers support the structure of underlying tissue to boost the volume and strength of the chin area. Dermal fillers are suitable for preventing and reducing fine lines and wrinkles. Therefore, dermal fillers in the chin area will prevent future lines and creases from forming.

Improve your facial symmetry
Chin augmentation can significantly balance your face, correcting asymmetry and redefining the face to improve your overall facial appearance.

How it works
What is chin augmentation treatment
For minor or less severe irregularities of the chin, or for jowls, a pointed witchy chin or a double chin, we offer dermal fillers as chin augmentation treatment options.
We only use the safest, most effective, naturally biodegradable dermal fillers at Advanced Cosmetic Medicine. These are clear and high-quality natural product (term forbidden by TGA) gels which closely mimic the natural product (term forbidden by TGA) in our skin. They are injected just beneath the surface of the skin for a lifted and contoured look that can smooth lines and wrinkles and improve facial proportions.
Natural Product (term forbidden by TGA) volumises, softens and hydrates the skin. It also aids collagen and elastin organisation underneath the skin which gives the skin a refreshed, more rejuvenated appearance.
What can chin augmentation treatment be used for?
Dermal fillers can be used most effectively and naturally to restore areas of lost volume in the face that occurs as we age, which often contributes to the sag and jowling. Strategic and skilful placement of filler can lift and support the face naturally with no need for a surgical procedure. Chins can be remodelled and given more definition.
We may recommend a combination of treatments to reduce the chin fat as well as to tighten the area along the jaw and under the chin. Dr Targett will give you all the advice you need.
Who is a good candidate for Non surgical Chin Shaping?
Any patient who desires an improvement in the size and shape of the chin may be suitable for non-surgical chin shaping – chin augmentation. Patients with a small or weak chin can improve the balance of their face using an injectable filler. Also, patients who have deformities of the chin either from birth or from injuries can achieve significant improvement without the pain, risk and recovery associated with surgery.
What to expect during non surgical chin augmentation?
A jaw enhancement treatment uses injections of dermal fillers. Several types of injectable filler products are commonly used for jaw enhancement. Fillers come in a few different types; permanent, semi permanent and non-permanent. By far, the most common is non-permanent because its effects are temporary and can be easily reversed. A permanent filler can only be removed surgically.
During the treatment, small volumes of dermal filler gel are injected at several places along the jawline. This process changes the contours of the area by filling in the skin from the inside out. The result is a jawline that looks more prominent and well defined. Injections of dermal filler can help to plump loose skin hanging from the jawline, making the area look younger and rejuvenated.
The entire jaw enhancement takes about 30 minutes. Afterwards, patients are free to leave our office immediately and return to their normal daily activities. There are no bandages required, and no downtime is needed. Patients should avoid rubbing or touching their jaw for several days, and sleep with their head and neck elevated.
The results of jaw enhancement treatments usually last between 6 and 12 months. Gradually, the body absorbs the injected material, and the jaw returns to its pre-treatment appearance. Many patients return for repeat visits to keep up the appearance of their jawline.
