Before the treatment, we will carefully examine your concerns, features and facial structure from different angles as part of the Profilometry assessment.
Step 3
To ensure your comfort during the treatment, a numbing cream or local anaesthetic will be applied before the procedure. The dermal filler solution will then be administered through advanced injecting techniques to the desired area in a matter that follows the natural shape or curves of the face.
Step 4
Until you have the contour you desire, enhancement can be performed in stages by gradually adding filler in small increments to avoid the risk of getting over-treatment. In many cases, using Face Contouring with adding dermal filler to lift and enhance the natural curves of the cheeks and restore the reduction of volume can subtly tighten the lower face and create a more feminine appearance in women, or a more masculine look in men.
How it works
What Is Facial Contouring?
In simple terms, facial contouring refers to using fillers to enhance the facial features to give it a great, natural look. Facial contouring can help get rid of wrinkles, add volume to the face to restore the natural look and feel. In facial contouring with dermal fillers, fillers are used to restore volume loss, project and lift tissues, smooth junctions and to define facial features.
Why Use Dermal Fillers?
Dermal fillers are essentially viscous materials injected underneath the skin. They are used to restore lost facial volume, smooth out wrinkles and lines and to enhance facial contours. It is a non-surgical method, which can correct the facial features in less time than that needed for a surgical procedure. It is cost-effective too. You can achieve younger looks and better facial contours in less time.
At Advanced Cosmetic Medicine, the dermal fillers used are made from Hyaluronic acid. A naturally occurring substance in the skin, Hyaluronic acid attracts water to keep the skin hydrated. This offers the skin a plump, youthful appearance. Hyaluronic acid fillers are excellent choices as they are soft and gel-like materials, which moulds well under the skin.
Although the results are not permanent, they last long enough. It takes six to twelve months until the body reabsorbs the filler material naturally and gradually. Hyaluronic acid fillers contain local anaesthetic lidocaine, so that pain or discomfort, if any, is minimised during and after the treatment.
Facial contouring using dermal fillers is easy because the dermal fillers are gels that can be injected under the skin. As they contain Hyaluronic acid, which replicates the action of a natural sugar molecule, they attract water to keep the skin hydrated. This helps to restore the volume of the face. The dermal fillers are injected below the skin to create better contours, youthful, smooth and plumper skin.
Another advantage of using dermal fillers is that it can fill even small areas such as the eyebrows and lips. They are also effective in filling out larger areas such as the jawline and cheeks.
Furthermore, the fillers can be used together with anti-wrinkle injections, or along with other treatments such as factor 4, laser genesis or skin needling. In short, it can be used to rejuvenate the entire face and not just a part of it.
Dermal fillers are especially effective for facial contouring because placing a thick filler can enhance the contours of the cheeks naturally to give them a ‘super-model’ look.
Further, dermal fillers can lift the lower half of the face, improve the lines around the mouth, and chin. It means that once you are through with the facial contouring procedure, you’ll see a naturally younger looking you and not a ‘made up’ you.
Through facial contouring, the volume loss is replaced and the cheeks and temples achieve a younger look. The face will regain its natural look and you will look beautiful naturally because the dermal fillers won’t leave any mark or scar on your face. Although everyone will notice the changes, no one will know the reason. You can enjoy the surprise and delight in the face of others.
Types of Dermal Fillers?
Dermal fillers are available in different consistencies. For delicate areas such as lips, light and soft consistencies are preferred. Deeper folds require denser consistencies. Having said that, the doctor chooses the filler based on the area to be treated, the depth to which the filler is injected, and the lifting and smoothing qualities of the fillers.
Whatever the choice, the aim is to avoid unnatural facial contouring. Therefore, the doctor will avoid enhancement that results in a puffy face and leaves an obvious sign of the treatment performed. At Advanced Cosmetic Medicine, Dr Targett offers you the expert and offers smooth and natural looks, leaving everyone wondering how you look so good.
