The Benefits
1. Enhanced Skin Texture:
Microdermabrasion exfoliates the outer layer of dead skin cells, promoting cell turnover and revealing smoother, softer skin underneath.
2. Reduction of Fine Lines and Wrinkles:
By stimulating collagen production and increasing blood flow to the skin, microdermabrasion can help minimize the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, resulting in a more youthful complexion.
3. Improved Skin Tone:
Microdermabrasion targets areas of uneven pigmentation, such as sunspots and age spots, helping to fade discoloration and achieve a more even skin tone.
4. Pore Size Reduction:
Regular microdermabrasion treatments can help unclog pores, remove excess oil and debris, and reduce the appearance of enlarged pores, leading to a clearer and more refined complexion.
5. Treatment of Acne and Acne Scars:
Microdermabrasion can help improve acne-prone skin by exfoliating dead skin cells, reducing oil production, and minimizing the appearance of acne scars, resulting in smoother and clearer skin.
6. Enhances Absorption of Skincare Products:
By removing the outer layer of dead skin cells, microdermabrasion allows skincare products to penetrate more deeply into the skin, maximizing their effectiveness and improving overall skin health.

Microdermabrasion is a painless procedure. Some patients may experience stinging or itchiness when the diamond wand comes in contact with the skin. Because the skin is thin and sensitive around the eye area, you may experience slight discomfort in this area. As the procedure continues, you will become used to the sensation and feel more comfortable. It will feel a bit like a facial only using a special wand. Most people find it a pleasant experience. You may have some slight facial redness after the procedure for the first day.
This treatment can help to reduce wrinkles and fine lines. It can be used as a treatment to help fight acne as well as helping to reduce acne scars. It helps to reduce pore size and revitalises dull appearing skin to achieve glowing, youthful, soft skin.
Microdermabrasion rejuvenates the skin by increasing collagen and elastin production. This plumps the skin to give a youthful and resilient appearance.
As soon as the procedure is over, your skin will appear softer and smoother.
You will be able to return to work as soon as you leave our clinic. Your skin may appear reddish like a sunburn. If this is the case, you can cover up by using a light application of make-up.
After the procedure, your skin will be more sensitive to sun exposure. Please stay out of the sun after the procedure and if you do need to go outside in the sun it is recommended to apply sunscreen.
For the first day after the procedure, your skin will feel a bit like a sunburn or windburn. This should gradually subside over the next day.
This will depend on your skin condition and the grade of microdermabrasion tip used. Some patients will see changes after only one treatment. After a few microdermabrasion sessions, your skin will appear smoother, healthier and softer. When treating wrinkles and scars, up to five sessions will be needed before visible results can be seen.
Please discuss your medical history with the doctor or therapist performing the procedure. Microdermabrasion is not recommended for people with; dermatitis, eczema, diabetes, active rosacea or acne, infected lesions, psoriasis or lupus. If you take Accutane acne treatment then this will need to be stopped for six months before the treatment.
The microdermabrasion procedure has minimal risk. You need not be concerned about any ill effects from this procedure. It is a mild and non-invasive procedure and no anaesthetic is required. The equipment is sterilised after every patient and we do not break the skin surface, so you should have no chance of any infection.
The frequency of treatment depends on the condition of your skin and what you are hoping to achieve. During your consultation, we will assess your skin type and condition and determine the most appropriate treatment schedule.
As a rough guide, we suggest having an initial two to four treatments at two-week intervals. For maintenance, a treatment once every four weeks would be optimal.
