DESCRIPTION

Double Chin Treatment - Adelaide

Although success and self-confidence largely depend on other factors, looking good is one of the important factors that can aid the cause and make the journey easy. A double chin is not a desirable feature for a person wishing to look good.

There are exercises to get rid of the double chin, but they are time-consuming and may not offer long-lasting results.

A double chin occurs due to the accumulation of fat under the chin and neck. It is a common issue faced by all. If you wish to get rid of the double chin with minimum fuss and low downtime, fat dissolving injections could be the best choice for you. Fat-dissolving injections are a non-invasive procedure that brings long-lasting results for people wishing to get rid of the double chin.

Fat-dissolving injections also work well in combination with NuEra Tight RF treatment.  This revolutionary treatment helps to break down localised fat deposits as well as helping to address the laxity of the skin which is inevitable once the fat cells are removed.  It is the ability of NuEra Tight to address skin laxity which makes it a perfect compliment to double chin fat dissolving injections.

How it works

What causes a double chin?

Accumulation of fat can be due to many reasons. The main causes of a double chin are:

  • Ageing
  • Genetics
  • Changes in weight

When fat accumulates, people tend to feel older and heavier than they actually are.

What are the advantages of fat dissolving injections?

  1. The procedure is only minimally invasive, requiring only localised injections into the chin area.
  2. The treatment is fast and easy.
  3. Little to no downtime required. You will experience swelling after the injections for a period of three weeks.
  4. The results are permanent. The excess fat cells in the chin region will be dissolved and absorbed by the body.
  5. You will achieve youthful results. The appearance of your jawline will be redefined and defined.
  6. You will gain a boost in confidence by looking your best.

What are fat dissolving injections?

Fat-dissolving injections are a non-surgical method used to contour the body by reducing excess fat from localised areas. Beneficial for both men and women, it is an effective alternative to liposuction, especially to remove small fatty deposits that cannot be removed through diet and exercise.
Fat-dissolving injections is a procedure wherein injections of a compound named Phosphatidylcholine (PPC) is initiated into small, localised fat deposits. The compound injected is medically proven to break down fat. As phosphatidylcholine is a naturally occurring enzyme, it is not harmful to the body. It is the main component of soy lecithin, which is medically proven to break down fat.
When the component is injected below the chin, it breaks down the fat cells, which are then absorbed by the body. The synthesised deoxycholic acid contained in the compound facilitates the breaking down of fat cells.

How do I Prepare For double chin treatment?

Do not take any blood-thinning medications, such as ibuprofen a few days before your procedure. These medications may cause unwanted bruising at the injection sites. See your G.P if you are taking blood-thinning medications that have been prescribed.  Keep taking them until your G.P has told you that it is ok to stop.

On the day of your procedure arrive at the clinic without makeup on.

How are fat dissolving injections performed?

The product used in fat dissolving injections is Deoxycholic acid also known as Lipodissolve. This compound is also naturally produced by your liver to form bile which helps your body to absorb fat.  A synthetic form of this acid is used for fat dissolving injections.

When this product is injected into the chin fat, it causes the destruction of fat cells.  The lymphatic system will gradually dissipate the destroyed fat cells over the coming weeks.  Once the fat cells are destroyed they are no longer able to store fat anymore, making this a permanent treatment.

Before the treatment begins, the skin around your chin area will be thoroughly cleaned.  A topical numbing cream will be applied to the skin in the region to be treated. You will need to wait thirty minuted for this to come into effect.  You should feel minimal discomfort during the procedure.

The treatment area will then be marked up to show where the injections will be administered.  Each individual is different, usually from 20 to 50 injections may be performed under the chin.  The acid will then gradually work to kill the fat cells, which will be metabolised by your body over the coming weeks.

A number of treatments will be required to achieve optimal results. Your doctor will be able to let you know how many treatments will be necessary. The treatments will be performed one month apart. Clinical studies suggest that six treatments will be required in 59% of cases.

There is no recovery time necessary, and patients can return home or work immediately after the injection process. There are no specific aftercare instructions and no downtime.

After the procedure, you will experience some swelling and pain. Ice may be applied immediately after to help reduce the swelling. The swelling is actually a good sign and means that the treatment is working.  Swelling may persist for up to three weeks.

Who is Best Suited to Fat Dissolving Injections?

Double Chin Fat dissolving injections are suited to anyone that is experiencing excessive fat deposits under their chin and wish to improve their appearance and look younger.

If your double chin is predominantly caused by ageing and excessive laxity of the skin under the chin, then double chin injections may not be suitable for you. Removing fat cells from the region alone will not be able to tighten the skin.  If you are currently pregnant or breastfeeding this treatment is also not recommended.

What Are The Alternatives to Chin Dissolving Injections?

NuEra Tight (by Lumenis) is a new treatment, now being offered by Advanced Cosmetic Medicine.  This machine works by using RF technology.

This modality has proven to be an ideal complement to Fat Dissolving Injections.  For more subtle chin fat NuEra Tight may be used alone to reduce your chin fat. For more significant chin fat deposits the combination of the two treatment works the best.

NuEra tight works by heating the dermis and also the deeper fat tissue, causing destruction of fat cells as well as tightening of the dermis.  Once the fat deposits have been depleted by fat dissolving injections, there is often a resulting laxity of the skin.  NuEra Tight is an effective adjunct because it helps to tighten the skin as well as aiding in fat destruction.  By using the combination of the two treatments it may be possible to reduce the number of fat-dissolving injection treatments required.
