The Benefits
1) Broad Spectrum Treatment:
2) Proven Effectiveness:
3) Enhanced Safety and Comfort:
4. Stimulated Collagen Production:
Excel V laser treatments not only target specific skin concerns but also stimulate collagen production, enhancing skin texture, firmness, and overall quality. Collagen, crucial for skin structure and elasticity, contributes to a youthful, radiant complexion, making Excel V treatments beneficial for long-term skin rejuvenation and maintenance.
5. Non-Invasive and Minimal Downtime:
Excel V laser treatments offer non-invasive solutions without incisions or injections, ensuring minimal discomfort. Patients can resume daily activities post-treatment, with temporary redness or swelling subsiding within hours to days. This convenience makes Excel V a preferred option for noticeable skin improvements without lengthy downtime.
6. Targeted Treatment:
Excel V laser technology allows for precise targeting of specific skin concerns, including vascular lesions (such as spider veins and rosacea), pigmented lesions (such as sunspots and age spots), and benign skin growths (such as cherry angiomas). The laser can selectively target these issues while leaving surrounding skin unharmed, minimising the risk of damage and optimising treatment outcomes.
How it works
What is the Excel V by Cutera?
At ACM, we use the Excel V and Excel V plus devices created by Cutera for all our laser treatments. The laser device is one of the most versatile on the market, utilising state-of-the-art laser technology that can be adjusted to different wavelengths to target a vast array of skin conditions. The laser can be changed to other laser lights and wavelengths that work to penetrate different skin layers and is entirely non-ablative, meaning the skin’s surface will not be damaged in any way.
The Excel V devices can also have attachments such as the Genesis V, used for Laser Genesis treatments, and the Coolview, which provides more precise laser targeting whilst using sapphire cooling to optimise the patient’s comfort.
What laser treatments does ACM offer?
We offer several laser treatments designed to target various skin conditions present in patients with every skin type and tone. Our laser treatments include:
- Laser Genesis – Using the Excel V+ laser by Cutera, a microsecond 1064nm wavelength of laser energy gently heats the upper dermis to stimulate collagen and elastin production. This treatment is designed to diffuse redness, reduce scarring, eliminate fine lines, and reduce other skin lesions such as hyperpigmentation.
- Vascular Laser – With our Excel V laser, this treatment utilises a high-power green laser specifically designed to treat visible vessels, broken capillaries, spider veins, vascular lesions, and skin discolouration. Blood vessels in the skin absorb the laser light, which heats and eliminates these vessels.
- Pigmentation Removal – This treatment utilises the Excel V Cool Glide laser at 532nm wavelength of light to specifically target pigmentation lesions present in the skin, including age spots, freckles, hyperpigmentation, melasma, moles, and other dark pigmented lesions.
What conditions can our laser treatments target?
Our laser treatments can help reduce and eliminate the following skin concerns:
- Age spots
- Freckles
- Melasma
- Hyperpigmentation
- Moles
- Spider and leg veins
- Rosacea
- Birthmarks
- Port Wine stains
- Sunspots
- Enlarged pores
- Fine lines and wrinkles
- Volume loss
- Skin laxity
- Acne
What to expect when having an Excel V + treatment?
During an Excel V treatment, patients can expect a comfortable and relatively quick procedure aimed at addressing various dermatological concerns. Initially, the dermatologist or skincare professional will assess the patient's specific needs and customise the treatment plan accordingly.
The treatment area will be cleansed, and protective eyewear may be provided to shield the eyes from the laser light. The Cool-Glide™ headpiece will then be used to deliver precise laser energy to the targeted areas, whether it's pigmented lesions, vascular lesions, or overall skin rejuvenation.
Patients may experience a mild warming sensation during the procedure, which is typically well-tolerated. The Cool-Glide™ headpiece's cooling system helps to minimize discomfort and protect the skin's surface throughout the treatment.
After the session, patients can expect some mild redness or swelling in the treated area, which usually subsides within a few hours to a few days. It's essential to follow any post-treatment instructions provided by the healthcare provider, such as avoiding sun exposure and applying moisturisers or soothing creams as recommended.
Results from Excel V treatments are typically gradual, with optimal outcomes achieved through a series of sessions spaced several weeks apart. Over time, patients can expect to see improvements in the appearance of pigmented and vascular lesions, as well as overall skin tone and texture, leading to a more radiant and rejuvenated complexion.
What results can I expect from laser treatments?
Patients should expect a significant reduction in whatever skin concerns they wish to treat, with smoother, tighter, and brighter skin.
Pores will appear smaller, and the results will gradually improve your complexion over time as collagen and elastin production are stimulated in the skin. This will smooth and plump out any scars, fine lines and wrinkles present in the treated area.
The heat from our Excel V and Excel V+ lasers also has antibacterial benefits and can not only reduce the appearance of acne but can also prevent further breakouts from occurring.
Pigmentation concerns caused by the overproduction of melanin, such as age spots and sunspots, may appear much darker at first after your laser treatment, but this is part of the removal process. They will gradually crust over and flake off entirely, leaving smooth skin with no imperfections.

This will vary for every patient, depending on their skin concerns, their desired outcomes, and how well the treatment will work. Some darker pigmentation lesions may require several treatments to dissipate their appearance fully, and other treatments may require multiple sessions to ensure patients experience the laser’s full benefits.
No cosmetic treatment is without the possibility of risks or complications occurring, and we always ensure patients are fully aware of the potential risks before going ahead with any treatment. Some complications have a very rare chance of occurring. So long as patients follow their pre– and post-treatment instructions, they should experience mild side effects, which are expected, and recover fully from their treatment to enjoy their enhanced appearance.
Our laser treatments can be catered to individuals of all skin types, tones, and conditions. However, for individuals with deeper skin tones who have pigmentation, scarring, or other skin lesions, we recommend our Laser Genesis treatment as the Excel V+ laser emits wavelengths suitable for darker skin tones.
We do not recommend any of our laser treatments to pregnant or breastfeeding individuals or who have recently had direct sun exposure causing sunburn.
None of our laser treatments are painful or uncomfortable for our patients. The gentle warmth of the laser as it slowly passes over the skin is often a therapeutic and relaxing feeling for our patients. Some laser treatments also have the added sapphire cooling technology that will cool your skin before and after the laser is emitted, ensuring patients do not feel especially hot or uncomfortable during the treatment.
