Mens Treatments – Adelaide
One of the biggest misconceptions and busted myths I see in my office is that cosmetic dermatology only applies to women. This may have been true 10 years ago, but now more and more of my cosmetic patients are men.
In the last decade, there’s been a shift in the attitude of men seeking a younger appearance. There’s a spike in interest of treatments that only women have been doing for years. More magazines and websites are educating men about “beauty,” making it socially acceptable for men to be concerned about looking older.
This new trend is rooted in men being practical, not simply vain. In the workforce, youth equates to more productivity and speedy results. Looking younger makes men more professionally desirable. And then there are social media and dating apps. More technology means we are looking at ourselves a whole lot more—and so are other people. The notion that “men look sexy as they age” is something they no longer believe.
Coinciding with this changing attitude are the advancements in the types of treatments available. Men are looking to dermatologic procedures that offer quick fixes with no downtime and that bring natural results immediately.

Mens Anti Wrinkle Injections
Unsurprisingly, Botox is the gateway procedure for most men. At first, men were hesitant to try it, fearing they would end up looking stiff as a board—expressionless with eyebrows that jutted up like Jack Nicholson. Men want to look natural above all, and that’s possible. As a man myself, I understand the art of administering Botox to men. I actually have a program in my office, literally called Botox for Men, where I soften wrinkles and lines around the eyes, forehead, and brow. This gives an overall refreshed, five years younger appearance that looks right.
Mens Dermal Fillers
Men are generally afraid cosmetic procedures will make them look feminine. That’s why they shy away from the injectable filler. However, again there are masculine techniques. Fillers in truth are one of the most versatile and effective tools in the beauty arsenal. We use them in a conventional way for women, but for men, a lesser amount is the key to a natural undone appearance. More than ever men use fillers to create a more lifted look and fill in deep grooves and hollows. Treatment around the eyes is growing in popularity to remedy dark circles or that sunken tired look.
PRP – Platelet Rich Plasma For Men
More and more men are using no–surgical aesthetic treatments to look and feel better. Today men are increasingly more aware of their appearance and the benefits of looking good to success. These safe and effective facial rejuvenation procedures improve self-confidence and performance — from the boardroom to the bedroom!
At HealthGAINS we are proud to offer the very latest in facial rejuvenation procedures for men, including Plasma Rich Platelet (PRP) Facial Rejuvenation and the Vampire Facelift®
The Vampire Facelift® is a patented PRP technique used to reduce the appearance of ageing skin, without any of the side effects normally associated with chemical fillers, such as Botox.
PRP has been getting a lot of attention in the news lately. Movie stars, business execs and other professionals all use this treatment in order to look years younger. PRP Facial Rejuvenation has been used effectively to:
Reduce the appearance of acne-related scarring and other marks
Improve wrinkles near the eyes
Reduce the appearance of neck wrinkles
Reduce or eliminate frown lines
Reduce or eliminate dark circles and under-eye bags
Factor 4 For Men
The FACTOR4 treatment relies on highly concentrated and super-rich conditioned serum – blood plasma, containing 4 times more growth factors than any existing brand PRP. How can it do this? FACTOR4 is autologous (harvested from the body’s own substances) and depending on the patient’s needs, it is used to treat wrinkles and creapiness in areas of the face, neck, décolletage, back of hands, dark circles, stretch marks, pores and scars.
FACTOR4 is generated by encapsulating venous patient blood, in technologically advanced tubing. Once the first step is completed, the patient’s blood is incubated between six and nine hours, exposing the blood to pyrogenic free surfaces, which elicit a vigorous and rapid increase in the synthesis of growth factors. Following centrifugation, serum extraction and filtration, FACTOR4 is portioned and stored at -18° Celsius.
Once the initial steps are performed by your specialist, in preparing your plasma, it is then injected in the troubled areas in a skilled manner to begin the repairing of your facial features.
A FACTOR4 treatment naturally stimulates and collagenases the skin, by significantly slowing down the skin’s ageing process, reducing fine lines and wrinkles and improving the overall skin’s texture. FACTOR4 also contains anti-inflammatory proteins.
Patients can expect to visibly see an improved difference in their overall facial features, after two weeks from their first treatment. It is recommended to complete a course of 3-4 treatments, four weeks apart for the maximum results.
This is modern technology at its best, committing itself to deliver the fine results we all have been seeking.
Hair Loss Treatment For Men
PRP against Hair Loss
The injection of PRP directly into the scalp stimulates microcirculation as well as stem cells at the hair’s roots. The result: Hair loss is slowed, while new growth is simultaneously supported.
The first step in PRP treatment is to prepare the blood – which contains a high concentration of blood protein and platelets that promote cell regeneration, collagen production and skin resurfacing – using a special method through centrifugation. This is done in the laboratory and takes about 20 minutes; the resulting extract, consisting of platelet-rich plasma with cytokines (growth factors), must then be injected immediately into the affected area of the scalp.
PRP treatment combats hair loss in the following ways:
blood vessel cells are stimulated
growth factors are released
damaged hair roots are repaired, and new hair root cells are stimulated
Thanks to the improved circulation and optimized access to nutrients, hair loss can be stopped and the development of new hair follicles can be stimulated.
PRP treatment is completely natural and highly effective: Because PRP is an autologous substance, there is no risk of an allergic reaction. For optimal results, we recommend 3 sessions within the first year with a couple of months in-between. Afterwards, one session every 6-12 months should suffice for “maintenance”.
