The Benefits
Many people suffer from skin pigmentation and a lot end up spending way too much money trying different skincare products, chemical peels, and DIY skin lightening that don’t always work well in improving and managing stubborn pigmentation and its reoccurrence.
Cosmelan is the world’s leading professional depigmentation treatment, because of its powerful skin depigmentation effects compared to other depigmentation treatments currently available on the market.
1) It’s proven safe and effective.
2) It significantly reduces all types of skin discolouration and pigmentation and prevents them from coming back.
3) It smoothens and restores the skin’s luminosity showing healthy glowing skin.
4) Treats melasma, PIH, liver spots, and freckles.
5) It treats all skin phototypes, but it does not cause post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation in darker skin.
What to Expect
Cosmelan is a two-phase (the in-clinic mask and the home care regimen) intensive topical treatment lasting approximately 6 months that combines a single clinic or salon session and at-home treatment, which is required to obtain optimum results.
Stage 1. Preparation
Four weeks before the actual Cosmelan treatment, the patient is required to follow preparation using recommended skincare products.
Stage 2. Treatment Day
The first step in the treatment program is performed in the clinic. An intense pigment reduction mask called Cosmelan 1 is applied to the face and left on for about 8 to 12 hours, depending on the prescribed hours based on a thorough skin analysis by your licensed dermal technician. It can be removed at home and then recovery product application follows for the next 72 hours.
Stage 3. In-Clinic Review and LED
Three days after the application of Cosmelan 1, in-clinic Observ Skin Analysis and photographs are performed to monitor the progression. The observation is followed by a soothing LED Light Therapy treatment which can aid in the healing process.
Stage 4. At-Home Aftercare
Six months post, depigmentation treatment continues with an at-home skincare regime. Instructions and recommendations from your licensed dermal technician will be provided.
How it works
What is Cosmelan?
Cosmelan is a topical treatment, meaning this medication is applied directly on the surface of the skin or scalp. Its unique multi-ingredient formula has achieved admirable results on over 1 million clients worldwide — proving Cosmelan’s incredible results on all kinds of skin pigmentation and skin phototypes.
Cosmelan Corrects and Regulates
Noticeable results of this treatment are achieved in a short period yet the effects have been seen long-term. This is possible through Cosmelan’s intensive dual-action system which corrects and regulates the source of the problem. It treats the visible spot while also managing the source of the problem, regulating the overproduction of melanin to prevent its reappearance.

Treatment programs can take up to a 7-month commitment to your skin. It initially starts with 4 weeks of at-home skin preparation, followed by the in-clinic application of the mask peel called Cosmelan 1. The mask is then left on the skin for about 8 to 12 hours, depending on the skin phototype and assessment by your dermal technician, and removed after at home. The remaining months of the program are completed within your home for an at-home skincare regime.
Results can be seen within a week, but full results are usually seen in as little as 2 to 6 weeks. Don’t worry, ongoing treatment ensures visible and long-term results, signalling the start of your healthy glowing skin journey.
Cosmelan treatment program requires only one session to see noticeable results in regulating and managing unwanted pigmentation. Depending on the condition or underlying cause of pigmentation, additional treatments can be performed to manage its recurrence.
Pre and Post-care are important to achieve and maintain better results. Remember these pieces of information as part of maintenance:
- Avoid any chemical peel and laser procedures 2 weeks before your appointment.
- Refrain from waxing or using other depilatory products in treated areas for 7 days before your treatment.
- Do not use facial exfoliation on the day of the treatment
- Sun exposure should be avoided and the use of suggested broad-spectrum SPF is recommended.
- Use only the prescribed home care regimen to optimize results
- It is strictly prohibited to get another treatment or procedure on the treated area for 30 days following.
- While undergoing Cosmelan 2, discontinue its use for 5 days before waxing, and do not restart treatment until 3 days after waxing. Threading can be done normally.
This intensive resurfacing treatment provides up to 10 to 12 days of downtime. Remember that it is usual that your skin will be red, swollen, and feel warm and sensitive for the first 3 days post of treatment, then peeling will start. Expect 7 to 10 days of dryness and peeling.
It will all be worth it, as proven by millions of patients who have tried it.
Moisturiser can be applied 48 hours after the treatment or as instructed.
No, Cosmelan will not make hyperpigmentation worse.
The treated area will be red and potentially swollen or sensitive after you remove the mask. Peeling will begin and continue for up to 2 weeks post-treatment.
You can get injectable treatments in your face area 3 months post your in-clinic Cosmelan Mask.
Depending on how you follow the at-home regime and maintenance skincare, the result of the treatment can last for years or even be permanent.
