Revitalise your skin with this revolutionary, anti-ageing treatment that utilises the body’s own healing mechanisms to turn back time.

Also known as the “vampire facial”, Factor 4 uses a serum produced from your own blood plasma to stimulate collagen production which tightens skin and shrinks pores. Since Factor 4 uses no extra chemicals or additives, this treatment is a great option for those who are looking for an all-natural treatment to rejuvenate their skin.

What is Factor 4?

Factor 4 is an autologous skin rejuvenation therapy – that means the product we use on you was produced by your own body – to address facial volume loss and delay the formation of wrinkles. Not only that, but this treatment also improves skin texture and elasticity, brightens skin tone, reduces the appearance of pores and slows down the ageing process of the skin.

Factor 4 serum contains concentrated amounts of repair and growth factors and cytokines that stimulate tissue repair while negating any inflammatory response in the skin. Compared to other blood-derived treatments like Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP), Factor 4 contains four times more growth factors and does not contain any additives – it’s 100% you.

What Problems Can Factor 4 Treat?

Factor 4 visibly slows skin ageing, improves skin texture and elasticity and rejuvenates tired, dull skin. It can be used to treat the face, front and back of neck, décolletage, forearms, back of hands and knees. Factor 4 may be the treatment for you if you have any of the following skin concerns:

  • Scarring
  • Fine lines
  • Crepey skin
  • Sagging skin
  • Stretch marks
  • Dull or lacklustre skin tone
  • Dark eye circles

How is Factor 4 Produced?

Before your treatment, you will visit ACM for Dr Rahma to extract the blood which will be used to produce your serum. 40 ml will be taken, about 10% of the amount given at blood donations. This blood will undergo six to nine hours of incubation, during which your blood cells release the growth factors that activate cellular and wound repair. Next, a highly concentrated serum rich in growth factors is produced by centrifuging the blood. The resultant serum is filtered to remove any impurities and is four times richer in growth factors than your original blood – hence the name ‘Factor 4’. After your serum is completed, it is stored in separate vials at -18oC and is individually thawed for each appointment.

How Do I Prepare For The Exraction Of My Serum?

It is recommended that you drink plenty of water and avoid or reduce alcohol intake the day before your blood extraction, as more serum can be produced when you are well hydrated.

What Happens During A Factor 4 Treatment?

Before your treatment begins, your skin will be cleansed thoroughly to remove any makeup and skincare products. We also recommend arriving early for your appointment so that an anaesthetic cream can be applied to your treatment areas. This is not mandatory, but it does allow for a more comfortable treatment experience.

Factor 4 can be applied in different ways, including direct injection, cannulation, micro-needling, drizzling and massaging. At ACM, we combine the regenerative effects of micro-needling with the age-defying Factor 4 treatment to intensify your treatment results. Micro-needling creates minute punctures in the skin which activates the skin’s natural healing process. Your Factor 4 serum is applied to your treatment areas, which accelerates skin regeneration and collagen production.

What Should I Expect After A Factor 4 Treatment?

Skin redness can be expected after your Factor 4 treatment. This may last 24 hours and, in some cases, can persist for up to two days. Some patients may also experience mild bruising or swelling around the eye and lip area.

What Is The Recommended Post Care?

Keeping hydrated after the treatment is vital. It is recommended that you avoid washing or applying makeup to the treatment areas for at least 12 hours post-treatment and reduce sun exposure for two to three days afterwards. You should also limit physical activity for 24 hours to minimise chances or extent of bruising and swelling.

When Can I Expect Results From My Factor 4 Treatment?

There should be a noticeable improvement in your skin tone and texture within three weeks of your treatment. Your skin will feel firmer and look more radiant. You should also see a reduction in scarring and fine lines.

How Often Should I have Factor 4 Treatment?

For optimal results, we recommend three to four treatments spaced 10 to 28 days apart. The length of time between each treatment depends on the course of your treatment.

The effects of your Factor 4 treatments will last approximately 12 months, depending on your lifestyle and certain health factors. Typically, alcohol and cigarettes negatively affect the duration of the effects of the treatment.

Factor 4  growth factor therapy is a revolutionary treatment for those suffering from alopecia. Treatment is performed by the injection of autologous plasma into the scalp using a needling device.  Growth factors stimulate the scalp to regrow hair for a thicker and fuller head of hair.

Factor 4 treatment is an excellent treatment for the reduction of large pores. Collagen growth within the skin causes the pores to shrink in size as they close up.
