Mesotherapy - Adelaide
Most people are familiar with cosmetic treatments like thread lifts, dermal fillers and anti wrinkle injections, but when it comes to Mesotherapy it may leave some scratching their head. Mesotherapy is a lesser known treatment that has been popular in Europe for some time and isnow becoming a popular alternative to mainstream skin rejuvenation techniques in Australia.
The Benefits
1. Skin Rejuvenation:
Mesotherapy rejuvenates the skin by delivering a potent cocktail of vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants directly into the dermal layer, promoting collagen production and improving skin texture and elasticity.
2. Minimally Invasive:
Mesotherapy is a minimally invasive procedure that involves small injections administered directly into the treatment area, resulting in minimal discomfort and downtime.
3. mproved Skin Hydration:
Mesotherapy injections deliver hyaluronic acid and other moisturising agents deep into the skin, improving hydration levels and restoring a healthy, radiant complexion.
4. Reduced Fine Lines and Wrinkles:
Mesotherapy promotes collagen and elastin production, reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles for a smoother, more youthful-looking complexion.
5. Boosted Circulation:
Mesotherapy stimulates blood flow to the treated area, improving circulation and oxygenation, which promotes healing and skin renewal.
6. Safe and Natural:
Mesotherapy utilises natural ingredients, such as vitamins, minerals, and amino acids, making it a safe and well-tolerated treatment option for many individuals.
How it works
What is mesotherapy?
Basically, mesotherapy is a non-surgical skin rejuvenation technique. It involves delivering micro amounts of a nourishing solution into the dermis of the skin, usually by way of a skin needling device such as the Dermapen 4. For best results, it may be delivered more efficiently using the V2 Vital Injector gun. The special device has nine small needles that can penetrate the skin to the desired depth and deliver precise amounts of the mesotherapy solution.
This infusion of nourishing ingredients helps to rejuvenate the skin by providing a healthy environment that helps to stimulate and facilitate the production of collagen elastin and hyaluronic acid, al of which are essential to maintain your youthful glow.
What product is used in mesotherapy?
At Advanced Cosmetic Medicine, we use a product called NCTF Boost 135 HA.
NCTF 135 HA contains a rich mixture of the following ingredients;
- 12 vitamins to stimulate vital functions of cells
- 23 amino-acids to improve protein synthesis
- Six minerals to improve cutaneous metabolism
- Six co-enzymes to reinforce cellular communication
- Five nucleic acids to supplement ionic deficiencies
- Anti-oxidants to fight against free radicals
This creates a nutrient-rich environment for fibroblasts to thrive. Fibroblasts are responsible for the production of collagen elastin and hyaluronic acid, all vital components of your skin required to create youthful skin.

What does the procedure involve?
To start with, you will have a consultation with Dr Targett to discuss your aesthetic goals, talk about the different options available, discuss the benefits that mesotherapy may provide you, discuss your suitability for the treatment and any potential side effects that you should be aware of.
Next, a numbing cream will be applied to your face. You will need to wait around thirty minutes for this topical anaesthetic to start working. After this, the V2 injector device or a needling device such as the Dermapen 4 will be used to administer the mesotherapy nutrient into your dermis. The process is usually very quick and should be over within half an hour. You should feel very little discomfort during the procedure.
First off, you’ll have a consultation where a trained professional will talk you through what’s involved, suitability and any potential side effects. Next, you will have numbing cream applied to your face and you’ll wait around 30 to 60 minutes for it to work. After this time, you’ll usually receive multiple facial injections with micro-needles from a medical gun. The process is reasonably quick (it usually takes around 45 minutes) with little to no discomfort.
After the treatment, you may have some minor bruising and swelling. Your face will appear red, a bit like a sunburn, for 24 to 48 hours after the treatment. You make take Paracetamol to help alleviate any discomfort after the treatment.
Your skin will become more radiant, glowing and hydrated. The texture and appearance of your skin should improve over the coming months as new collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid are formed. We recommend that you initially have a course of 6 treatments, spaced at two-week intervals. Maintenance treatments may be performed once or twice a year.
