The Benefits
1. Immediate Results:
Thread lift procedures provide instant lifting and tightening effects, offering immediate improvement in facial contours and skin firmness without the need for extensive downtime.
2. Non-Invasive:
Threadlifts are minimally invasive procedures that involve inserting dissolvable threads into the skin to lift and reposition sagging tissues. Unlike traditional facelift surgery, thread lifts require smaller incisions and typically result in less scarring and a quicker recovery time.
3. Natural-Looking Results:
Threadlifts promote collagen production in the treated areas, leading to gradual and natural-looking improvements in skin texture and elasticity over time. This helps restore a youthful appearance without an overly tightened or "pulled" look.
4.Longevity:
While thread lift results may vary depending on factors such as the type of threads used and individual skin characteristics, they can last anywhere from one to three years or more. Regular maintenance treatments can help prolong the effects of the procedure.
5.Versatility:
Thread lifts can be used to address various concerns, including sagging skin on the face, neck, and jawline, as well as eyebrow ptosis and mild to moderate jowling. Additionally, different types of threads are available to target specific areas and achieve customised results.
6.Minimal Downtime:
Thread lift procedures typically involve minimal downtime compared to traditional facelift surgery, allowing patients to resume their normal activities relatively quickly. While some temporary side effects, such as bruising, swelling, and minor discomfort, may occur, they usually subside within a few days to weeks.
How it works
What Does The Treatment Involve?
First, your face and nose will be cleaned using Chlorhexidine antiseptic solution. A local anaesthetic will then be administered to your nose. The anaesthetic will take about thirty minutes to work. Once your nose is numb, the PDO threads will be inserted through the nasal tip and along the nasal bridge under the skin. Approximated 4 to 8 threads may be used along the nasal bridge to achieve the required nose height and definition. Threads may also be applied to the nasal tip if nasal tip projection is also required.
What concerns can a nose thread lift improve?
Individuals who have various nose concerns can experience beneficial, enhanced results from a nose thread lift, creating improvements such as:
- Slimming wide nostrils
- Smoothing out a nasal hump
- Projecting the nasal tip
- Lifting the nose tip
- Filling depressions in nasal walls
- Correcting a crooked nose due to surgery or trauma
- Preventing nasal obstruction by reducing nasal passage collapse
What results can I expect?
Results can be seen immediately after your nose thread lift treatment. The results will gradually improve as collagen production is stimulated. Collagen production may continue for up to one year after your nose thread lift. After six months the PDO thread will have completely dissolved. The final results may last up to one year. (Results may vary depending on each individual).
Some people may find they need a repeat treatment between six and nine months after the initial treatment. Suppose a maintenance treatment is performed roughly nine months after your initial treatment. In that case, results can last even longer, making a nose thread lift a great alternative to traditional surgical nose jobs. Always remember that a nose thread lift is not a permanent solution, if you are wanting longer lasting results, then a rhinoplasty from a Plastic Surgeon may be the best option for you. Over 90% of our clients are very happy with the results achieved.
Am I a suitable candidate for a nose thread lift?
A nose thread lift may be a suitable option for patients who are bothered by their nose appearance and seek corrections in overall shape and definition or correct other imperfections such as depressions or grooves. It is often a great alternative to traditional rhinoplasty procedures, which are highly costly, have significant downtime, and are among the most common procedures requiring corrective surgery.
Results can be permanent for up to two years, and patients should keep this in mind when choosing to undergo a nose thread lift, as the effects cannot be reversed entirely. It is a good option for individuals who have realistic expectations and have tried other solutions but still do not want to commit to traditional rhinoplasty.
Is the Procedure Painful?
Patients should not experience any pain during the treatment due to the use of local anaesthetic. Most patients can feel a pushing sensation as the threads are inserted.
What is The Downtime?
Patients should not require any downtime after the procedure. After the procedure, you will experience some local swelling and numbness. The anaesthesia will wear off after a few hours. The swelling should subside after a few days. Patients are free to wear makeup after the procedure. Some patients choose to take time off after the treatment, but you should be able to return t work the same day if that is necessary.

At advanced Cosmetic Medicine you can always be reassured that you will be welcomed and treated personally by Dr Rahma Targett.
At Advanced Cosmetic Medicine we would say that approximately 90% of clients that have nose thread lift are happy with the results. This result may be attributed to the fact that a thread lift lasts longer and has fewer complications than dermal fillers. A nose thread lift is more stable than dermal fillers, which can migrate and change the shape of the nose.
Risks and side effects can potentially occur with any cosmetic treatment or procedure you choose to undergo. While some side effects are common, others are rarer, and patients should be aware of them. Associated risks and side effects can include:
- Swelling
- Bruising
- Discomfort or pain
- Skin dimpling
- Inflammation
- Infection
- Visible threads in people with thin skin
- Extrusion and protrusion of the threads (If this happens, always return to see your doctor and do not touch the tread)
- Nodule formation
PDO mono threads are an innovative non-surgical tightening and lifting technology that utilises ultra-fine threads made from polydioxanone (PDO), a synthetic dissolvable suture. When these threads are inserted into chosen areas, they can significantly lift skin, stimulate collagen production, trigger skin cell renewal, and support skin tissue structure.
Because of how thin the PDO threads are, our thread lift treatments are entirely comfortable and relatively painless. Over time, the threads will dissolve, but due to its stimulating technique in producing collagen, elastin and new skin cells, the effects will remain even after the threads have been naturally absorbed.
Both treatments are similar in that they are non-invasive, non-surgical, and can provide enhanced results for individuals wishing to avoid traditional surgery. However, there are some critical differences between dermal nose fillers and a nose thread lift, such as:
- Dermal fillers have a risk of migrating or spreading, potentially changing the shape and enhancement of the nose, along with other more serious risks such as vascular occlusion.
- The results of dermal fillers can last up to one year, but with HA fillers, the effects can be dissolved and reversed at any time, unlike a nose thread lift.
- A nose thread lift has less severe risks or complications.
- Both treatments will stimulate collagen production.
If patients are unsure which treatment option may be right for them, a consultation with Dr Targett will be crucial in helping them decide on a treatment plan. She can discuss your concerns and desired outcomes, evaluate your nose area, and recommend a treatment that works for your needs.
Contraindications for a nose thread lift will depend on the extent of the nose and concerns needing correction. In some cases, traditional rhinoplasty may be the only option in providing a patient’s anticipated outcomes. Contraindications can include individuals who have:
• Large noses
• Severe septum deviation
• Thick skin
• Rigid or stiff nasal tip
• Prominent bony structure
